Communications Assistants

For on-campus Boston University Students, though work may be done remotely. 

Currently seeking applicants for Fall semester and/or full year placement. Both work study and regular student employment applicants welcome. 

Support the new Wheelock Educational Policy Center at BU’s College of Education and Human Development as a communications assistant responsible for crafting non-academic writing (articles, blogs, etc); social media content; event & newsletter content; and updating and improving our website. The communications assistant(s) will have the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers and state/national policymakers seeking to disrupt systemic inequities within U.S. schools and classrooms. Typically able to support 1-2 students for 6-10 hours a week ($15/hr). Hours, start date and specific responsibilities negotiated based on candidate availability and background. While listed as an “on-campus” opportunity, responsibilities can be completed remotely.

For Fall 2022, WEPC is prioritizing hiring a communication intern with facility in website design and maintenance, with specific knowledge and ability working with WordPress and the Divi Builder. Other preference is for social media management; remainder of responsibilities can be adjusted based on other skills/interest.
