Kristen Finney

Graduate Student, Boston University

Kristen is a Master’s student studying educational policy in the Boston University Wheelock College of Education and Human Development. She earned her Bachelor of Science from MIT in 2016, where she studied chemical engineering with a minor in public policy. Kristen’s interest in educational equity led her to join Teach for America. The experience convinced her that great teaching is necessary but not sufficient to solve the challenges facing the American education system, and she decided to return to school to study education policy. In addition to her work with the Wheelock Educational Policy Center, she has also interned with the Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy and worked as a research assistant at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
